Biography

Boston Massachusetts’s Felicia Florence birthed not just your normal Hip Hop artist, but an artist who injects Love, Peace, and Faith into the lives of those he comes into contact with. Some call him a Christian Rapper… But he says he is just a rapper who has zero tolerance for worldly conformity. But how does a young man like himself gain so much wisdom by the age of twenty? Well, he wasn’t always this wise.
Giovanni was at a disadvantage since the age of one when his father was gunned down in the streets of Boston Massachusetts. Being raised in a single family home caused a lot of confusion for Giovanni, especially during his years of elementary school. Seeing other children with a mother and father caused Giovanni to become insecure and feel incomplete. Abnormal is the best way to describe how Giovanni felt during the remainder of his childhood causing him to search for somewhere to belong.

At the age of thirteen Giovanni became an affiliated gang member. His feeling of being incomplete was immediately over; or so he thought. What attracted him to the gang was that he was finally around people who were also fatherless and were searching for people to build with. He was with the gang every day of the summer and even throughout the following school year. People began to look upon Giovanni in fear because of the well known gang he was a part of and he kind of liked it. During these good times he felt close to his new brotherhood but soon he would realize these new “brothers” weren’t all they were cracked up to be.

On November 17, 2006 Giovanni was arrested and on the 23rd of November was convicted of an armed robbery. Because it was Giovanni’s first offense, his jail time was suspended, and he was made to do his time on house arrest. His time was nine months with only three hours a week for church on Sunday which was regularly skipped. After the third month of house arrest Giovanni became depressed and often had thoughts of suicide. Though he never felt strong or weak enough to do it, a part of him wanted to. His street family never came by to see how he was doing, nor did they bother calling. Again he was alone…

After completing his nine months of house arrest, Giovanni was invited to a youth church service at Jubilee Christian Church at 1500 Blue Hill Ave. Boston, Ma. That was the first time he had encountered genuine LOVE from individuals his age. However he wasn’t willing to commit to the consistency of being in church on a Friday night. Giovanni wanted to go back to “Doing him” but he was ruined. He realized that once one experiences life, it becomes almost impossible to again walk in death. So a month later he went back to Jubilee for youth night. This particular day did the job. Hands raised and a beautiful melody of the words “Lead Me To The Cross” drew the final straw. He knew where he belonged. Since that day, Giovanni has been living for the Lord, Jesus Christ.
